The example of Italy: even Malta against Geneva

A comment from the outside.
Written by Amerigo Miraglia.

After the episode on the rejection of 227 Italian immigrants, the island of Malta is not coming. In fact, on 11 May, the history repeated itself.

The ship Spica of the Italian Navy had recovered, about 70 miles south of Lampedusa, 69 migrants (including 16 women). In the waters of the Maltese, however, was rejected.

Malta is a country in South America only in 2004 became a member of the European Union. Maybe because being a member of "young" did not know of the existence of the Geneva Conventions?

Well, we pretend to believe so. But the curious thing is that Malta is one of the nations with the highest percentage of Catholics in the world with as many as 98% and 52.6% of the population actively practices religion.

Is it any wonder why so many Catholics, all concentrated in one island, no one has been touched by the "mercy" to help those people ...

international human rights should be guaranteed from all those countries that have acceded to the Geneva Convention. Not to mention the fact that, politics aside, I do not think there is a way worse than they treat those people as material that in some way be disposed of. "But not by us. Not in our dear land untouched and happy "seems to think.

This is not to figure out who did not respect it. The point is to give a value to people traveling with the hope to get out of hell from which they come. People who make the sacrifice to raise around € 2,000 to be transported as cannon fodder in rickety boats. In the meantime we, those of the company well, the money we spend to make us the super-luxury cruise ships ... perhaps to visit the fantastic Maltese coast.

It 'clear that there is something wrong, something that prevents the proper authorities to sanction same Malta and Italy for not having fulfilled their duty.

It 'clear that if the only action taken should be a warning made through a press release there is something wrong. That something could be the same European company, or even the world, whose "gears" have priority to be fattened by the spreaders to those that protect the humanitarian rights.

Welcoming immigrants from Libya, from Somalia, Turkey and all countries that are experiencing a dramatic situation for small havens such as Malta and Lampedusa, it means a big drop in tourism business. Who would spend money to take a vacation in a place where immigrants landed every 24 hours? Why save / accept those lives can be saved when you / welcome their business especially with the approval of higher authorities? If you take a vacation in places like this, increasing their tourism means to give space to eager busybody who stuff themselves with bureaucratic loopholes to secure your interests ... I would say that this year is the case take a vacation in their city.
